- Do we need to bring in our own patients for the Dental Assistant Program courses, as well as the Radiation Safety, Coronal Polishing, and Pit & Fissure Sealants stand-alone certification courses?
Yes, for each of the procedures mentioned above the students are responsible for bringing their own patients. Radiation Safety requires 4 patients, Coronal Polishing requires 3 patients, and Pit & Fissure Sealants requires 4 patients.
- Are we required to have a supervising dentist for the Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions (RDAEF) program?
Yes, per the Dental Board of California regulations, students are required to have a supervising dentist for the RDAEF program.
- What is the average class size?
Class sizes can range from a few students to as many as 12 students. To facilitate better learning, discussing, and overall participation, we never have more than 12 students per class.
- Does Howard Academy pay for the RDA state exam?
Yes, each student’s RDA state exam is funded in full by Howard Academy.
- Does Howard Academy offer accommodations such as tutoring and disability-friendly facilities/teaching?
