Learn Dental Anatomy Terms & Receive Instruction on Instrument Sterilization
Learning the basics of proper dental terminology and anatomy is essential in the dental assistant profession. To help students develop a thorough understanding of these subject areas, DA100 pays particular attention to the must-knows of dental offices and dental patients. Special emphasis is placed on anatomy, physiology, dental anatomy and histology, and the oral cavity. Students will leave the course with a comprehensive understanding of oral and maxillofacial features, a fundamental component of the dental assistant field.
In addition to its focus on dental anatomy, DA100 provides instruction and laboratory practice in basic chairside assisting and sterilization. Students learn about autoclaving, preparation for sterilization and disinfection, surface disinfection, sterilization of dental instruments, mechanical barriers, and infection control protocol.
