400A: Learn Expanded Duties & Functions for Dental Assistants
A dental assistant is expected to perform a wide range of duties and be proficient in a wide range of protocol. In 400A, students are taught registered dental assisting functions and protocol pertaining to regulations, categories, terminologies, examination, certification, continuing education and legalities. Possessing a thorough understanding of these areas is essential for dental assistants working in general dentistry and other branches of the dental field. Students will also have the opportunity to practice all dental assisting and registered dental assisting functions as they apply to general dentistry, oral surgery, and preventive dentistry in a professional dental office.
400B: Learn Equipment-Based Dental Assistant Duties & Responsibilities
Among the many duties performed by dental assistants, the majority involve the usage of specialized dental equipment. This dental equipment ranges from manual and simplistic to sophisticated and multi-faceted in terms of operation. DA400B focuses on the operation of several dental assistant duties that involve the operation of dental equipment and materials. In 400B, students have the opportunity to practice all dental assisting and registered dental assisting functions as they apply to intra-oral/extra-oral photography, placement of patient monitoring sensors, monitoring patient sedation, intra-oral images for milled restorations, endodontics, orthodontics, and periodontics.
