Our Orthodontic Assistant Permit course ensures students can practice on typodonts and live patients under direct supervision. This hands-on experience helps you become more comfortable performing orthodontic assistant duties and confident building your orthodontic assistant skill set.
This course requires 84-Hours to complete. It consist of 24 hours of lecture completed via online and on campus, 28 hours of lab are completed on campus and 32 hours of clinical are completed at the students office. Students must complete the in person hours at our San Diego campus in Kearny Mesa. Upon successful completion of the OAP course, you’ll be eligible to sit for the Orthodontic Assistant Permit State exam.
What you’ll need for admittance
In order to be admitted to the Orthodontic Assistant Permit course, you are required to have
- CPR certification
- 8 Hour Infection Control
- 6 months of work experience in a dental office
- CPR certification
- Current RDA license
